NI Days 2016 was held at the QEII centre this year to an audience of scientists, engineers and managers. All were eager to discover the latest innovations and industry developments in measurement, test and control systems.
As part of the morning keynote, National Instruments showcased their latest Industry 4.0 case study with Flowserve – a connected pump device with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance logic built into the device the help of CompactRIO, PTC Thingworx and Osi Pi data historian. This case study shows an interesting trend in connecting shop floors production devices in the digital factory. Doing this reduces maintenance costs and reduces production machinery down time.
These systems are complementary to our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Tascus, which is built upon our experience implementing connected production lines and digital factories femur clients. Tascus helps our customers get their products into production quicker and more reliably, by controlling the manufacturing process and production process flow. It also helps to create connected factories by connecting the many manual and automated manufacturing processes across a factory.
