North West LabVIEW User Group – Monday 15 May

Learn about LabVIEW at our User Group meeting on 15 May at John Moores University, Liverpool. At our next session we will have Chris Jones from National Instruments giving a presentation on the NI technology Preview & next generation of LabVIEW Martin Griffiths from Metis Automation will be discussing getting to grips with large LabVIEW apps, and Peter Whiteley will be in charge of our fun LabVIEW coding challenge. North West LabVIEW User Group Review January 2017

Our latest LabVIEW User Group was kindly hosted by NSG, at their glass production and inspection technology centre in Lathom. At this event, LabVIEW developers of all abilities learned about current practices and techniques of LabVIEW software development. Simon Aldred (NSG) presented about his current techniques of using LabVIEW for automotive glass inspection. Simon has installed LabVIEW driven glass inspection systems in NSG plants worldwide. He illustrated how these systems have driven massive improvements in glass quality. NI Days 2016 Review – User Interface Design

A first at this year’s NI Days was a LabVIEW User Group track, with presentations on advanced concepts in LabVIEW software development. Metis Automation organises the North West LabVIEW User Group and was represented by Simon Carter and Martin Griffiths, at sessions throughout the day. The track featured many sessions focusing on User Experience (UX) and User Interfaces (UI) in LabVIEW. NI Days 2016 Review – IIoT and Industry 4.0

NI Days 2016 was held at the QEII centre this year to an audience of scientists, engineers and managers. All were eager to discover the latest innovations and industry developments in measurement, test and control systems. As part of the morning keynote, National Instruments showcased their latest Industry 4.0 case study with Flowserve – a connected pump device with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance logic built into the device the help of CompactRIO, PTC Thingworx and Osi Pi data historian. North West LabVIEW User Group Review November 2016

We were joined by LabVIEW developers from across the North West at our recent User Group, held at John Moores University in Liverpool. During the afternoon event, we discussed a variety of LabVIEW development topics and techniques. David Maidman from CSS talked about his detailed process for managing LabVIEW software projects with source code control (SCC). He covered some of the popular tools that developers are using, including Subversion, Mercurial and Git. NWLUG August Review

  We were joined by LabVIEW developers from across the North West at our last User Group, held at 54 St James Street in Liverpool. During the afternoon event, we discussed a variety of LabVIEW development topics and techniques. Dawid Wozny from Argenta started the session by presenting to the group about a project they had recently completed, using LabVIEW and CompactRIO to control Dynamometer Test Rigs.
